Kate Zubok takes over the airwaves of Crop Of Music Radio for an exclusive broadcast on Friday, 30 October. The Ukrainian DJ, producer and handpan player brings an international perspective to the station, with a career that connects the Parisian club scene, overseas festivals and releases on Sapiens and Monaberry.
Her musical identity sits where melody, percussion and atmosphere meet. There is a club pulse at its centre, but also a sustained interest in how music changes the feeling of a room. Friday’s broadcast is an invitation to explore that world through the selections of the artist herself.
In her artist biography, Zubok describes music as an exchange: a way to share emotion and connect with the people listening. The melodic, organic and tribal influences in that biography place her work across several neighbouring corners of electronic music, rather than inside one rigid genre.
Speaking to Ibiza BPM Radio in 2024, she located her sound between Afro house and melodic house and techno. She also named Keinemusik as an important inspiration, pointing to both the quality of their productions and the positive energy they convey.
That emphasis gives listeners a useful way into her work. Groove and atmosphere belong together; the physical pull of percussion can sit alongside a more reflective melodic passage. Her identity as a handpan player adds another musical dimension to a profile already shaped by DJing and production.

Her early musical memories include childhood cassette recordings and a Carl Cox performance in Kyiv. She has described a visit to Kazantip in 2013 as a turning point, followed by DJ practice in Los Angeles.
Her supplied biography documents a later connection with Paris and an international itinerary spanning cities including Hong Kong, Bangkok, Milan, Ibiza and Dubai. It also lists appearances alongside artists such as Agoria, Bedouin, Black Coffee, Solomun and WhoMadeWho, and festival appearances at Burning Man, Wonderfruit and Epizode.
There is recent festival context for that international profile, too. The official Family Piknik 2026 programme billed Kate Zubok on its Nomad Stage on Sunday, 2 August, on a day that also included Chus & Ceballos, Oliver Huntemann and Yubik. Her own website also features a live recording from Delta Festival in Marseille, offering another entry point into her work behind the decks.
These settings place her music in front of very different audiences. A festival stage and an intimate room ask different things of a DJ; her account of the job consistently returns to the exchange of energy between the selector and the people on the floor.

The studio is an equally important part of the story. Her debut EP, Own Story, arrived on Agoria’s Sapiens label in 2020. The release introduced a production catalogue alongside her DJ work and remains a useful starting point for listeners discovering her music.
That catalogue later expanded to Monaberry with Astral Safari, a two-track release pairing the title cut with “Lalala.” Together, those label connections show a producer working within the broader house landscape while retaining room for melody, texture and rhythmic character.
In the Ibiza BPM Radio interview, she described travel and encounters as sources of ideas, often captured on her phone. Collaboration with other musicians also matters to her process. Her account places real experiences and shared creativity alongside the more solitary work of production.
For anyone discovering Kate Zubok through Crop, the appeal lies in bringing these different parts of her career together. There is the DJ who has worked across international dance floors, the producer with releases on distinctive electronic labels, and the musician whose interests extend beyond the decks.
Radio offers a particularly good setting for that introduction. A continuous mix gives the listener time to follow transitions and connections, rather than encountering an artist only through a single track or a short clip. It creates space to hear how a selector builds a musical thread.
Friday’s exclusive broadcast puts that listening experience at the centre of the occasion. Whether you know Zubok through her productions, her festival appearances or her recorded sets, it is a chance to spend time with her musical perspective on Crop Of Music Radio.
The appointment is Friday, 30 October, exclusively on Crop Of Music Radio. Listen through the player on the Crop Of Music Radio website and join us for a session with an artist whose work connects club culture, production and a deeply personal relationship with sound.
