YOUNG PEOPLE IN BERLIN TO BE GIVEN €50 CARD TO GO CLUBBING BY CITY SENATE

The Berlin Senate has launched a new program that offers young people in the city 50 euros to go clubbing. The Jungendkulturkarte is a prepaid card that can be used to cover entrance fees for participating clubs, as well as a range of other cultural activities such as theater, museums, and cinema. To obtain a card, people must have proof of residence in the city and register online. Among the clubs participating in the program are AVA Club, Cassiopeia, Klunkerkranich, Ritter Butzke, and SchwuZ. The card will be valid from February 1 to April 30 and will also be available to non-German residents in the city. It can be picked up from a range of libraries in the city.

The Berlin Club Commission, which represents a number of key clubs and parties in the city, celebrated the news on Instagram. In a post, it wrote:

The @jungendkulturkarte.berlin has launched today and we are happy that clubs are part of it. It’s obvious that you can go to the opera or museum with the Jungendkulturkarte, but we have clear preferences.”
